The Social Networks & Complex Systems Workshop

Dates

June 20-21, 2023

Location:

Building "C", room 2E

Warsaw School of Economics/Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie

al. Niepodległości 128

02-554 Warszawa (Mokotów)

Aims and scope:

The Social Networks & Complex Systems Workshop is a multidisciplinary event that gathers researchers in economics, social networks, complex systems and discrete mathematics interested in exploring the intricate dynamics and interconnections that shape economic systems. At the core of this workshop lies the desire to better understand the underlying structures, patterns, and processes that govern social networks and complex systems.

The workshop will cover various topics, from the fundamental principles of network science and complexity theory to the practical applications of these concepts in multiple domains. Sample topics include but are not limited to graph theory, hypergraphs, dynamics of information diffusion, the emergence of social influence, the role of network topology in shaping human behaviour, agent simulation, optimization modelling for networked systems and logistic networks. An essential aspect of the workshop is its theoretical and empirical research focus. Attendees will be able to learn about new mathematical models, computational methods, and data-driven approaches for analyzing social networks and complex systems.

Organizing committee:

  • Przemyslaw Szufel, SGH Warsaw School of Economics
  • Sebastian Zając, SGH Warsaw School of Economics
